SUMMARY
We began our search by looking for the birth and
baptism record of your grandmother Bridget Feeley, the daughter
of Michael Feeley and Ann Reddington, who was born in County Roscommon
circa 1895. We searched all of the records of all parishes in the
County and are delighted to say that her baptism record was located
in the records of the Roman Catholic Parish of Strokestown, and
the corresponding civil record was located in the registration district
of Strokestown. Bridget was born on 23rd January 1896, in the townland
of Ardmore, and was baptised on 25th January, her baptismal sponsors
were John Regan and Anne Feeley.
Having located both the birth and baptism record
of Bridget, we then searched for records of her siblings. Five baptism
records were located in the church records and six civil birth records
were found, as follows;
- John, born 20th November 1890
- Anne, born 3rd January 1892
- Patrick, born 6th March 1893
- Michael, born 8th July 1894
- Thomas, born 23rd February 1897
- Mary, born 30th September 1899
A search for the marriage of your great-grandparents,
Michael Feeley and Anne Reddington was then undertaken, and the
marriage was located in the records of the Roman Catholic Parish
of Tulsk. The marriage took place on 15th November 1888. It listed
Michael’s parents as John Feeley and Anne Regan and Anne’s
parents as Patrick Reddington and Mary Hanley.
Following the Feeley line we then searched for
the birth/baptismal record of your great-grandfather, Michael Feeley
and this was located in the parish of Strokestown. Michael was born
on 26th February 1866, the oldest child of John Feeley and Anne
Regan and was baptised on 1st March 1866, baptismal sponsors, Michael
Feeley and Ann Feeley.
A search for records of Michael’s siblings
was undertaken and the following siblings were located:
- Anne, born 23rd June 1867
- John, born 10th May 1868
- Mary, born 18th July 1870
- Thomas, born 30th June 1872
- Martin, born 16th April 1874
- Luke, born 26th August 1877
